Before Commencing Your Project

Prior to the project, follow and adhere to these essential steps:

Lower the pool water to 6 inches below the concrete decking or cantilever edge. This facilitates proper adhesion of the tape to the tile, which is required for covering the pool with protective plastic sheeting.

Turn off your auto-fill water leveler valve to prevent water from rising during the remodel, avoiding compromise to the plastic sheeting.

Keep pets indoors throughout the remodeling process, as Fresco Deck & Patio Coatings is not liable for any injuries to pets.

Due to heavy equipment use, there is a chance GFCI outlets might “trip.” Reset them as needed, especially in areas like kitchens, bathrooms, outdoors, or garages.
Turn off sprinklers near areas where coating will be applied and cover valuable items to prevent overspray of paint or dust. Trim back adjacent shrubs and remove all furniture and items from the decking; this includes chairs, pots, artificial grass or turf, tables, or art.
Turn off pool equipment during the remodel to prevent damage to the pool pump.
Ensure power and water are accessible to the installation crew. Be mindful of potential “grinding dust” when grinding is necessary.

After the Project

After the project, follow and adhere to these essential steps:

Wait at least 48 hours before walking on the deck. Afterward, add felt glides to outdoor furniture to protect the new deck.

Turn on the water leveler auto-fill valve.
Allow 7-10 days during winter and 5 days during summer months for the acrylic coating to cure completely. Keep furniture and pets off the deck during this period.
Homeowners are responsible for backwashing the filter and cleaning dust from the pool water post-remodel.
Use touch-up paint for scratches, avoid black-soled shoes for three days, and refrain from placing heavy objects on the deck for 10 days.

Avoid pressure washing or using harsh chemicals. Use a mild cleaner like Dawn dishwashing soap.

Wipe up spills immediately, and prevent standing water on the acrylic coating.

Be aware of efflorescence, especially during winter, and inquire about “grit in the sealer” for a skid-resistant surface.
